Reading
- In Reader's Workshop this week, we will continue studying characters in our books.
- Parents, use these words during your conversations at dinner or when reading books with your child to discuss character emotions and how they change.
Writing
- In Writer's Workshop this week, we will be studying the rhythm and voice of song. We will be writing class songs to the tune of common nursery rhymes. We will incorporate the elements of poetry we have learned throughout this unit (rhyming, alliteration, simile, repetition).
- Writers will also be encouraged to write their own songs during independent writing.
Phonics
- On Friday, January 24th, we will be using a stuffed animal for our phonics lesson to celebrate the 100th day of school. Please send your child to school with one of their favorite furry friends!
