Math
We will be busy in math this week! Early in the week students will participate in review stations as we prepare for our math test later this week. In partner game students will practice their numeracy skills by playing an arrow math game. In independent work students will solve number chart puzzles by using what they know about ten more and ten less. While at teacher table students will continue to work on counting groups of coins and solving story problems.
We will take our final math test for the grading period on Thursday. Be sure to use the graded homework sheet from last week to practice!
Later in the week students will have a chance to shop at an imaginary store and use their coins to pay for items. Students will take turns being the shopper and the cashier.

Science
This week in science we will continue our unit on weather. We will continue recording weather information each day as a class. We will be observing the weather and how it affects us. What kind of clothes do we wear in when it is hot or cold? What activities do we do in the different kinds of weather? We will also discuss precipitation and cloud coverage.

Social Studies
In social studies this week we'll continue focusing on our vocabulary words, past, present, and future. Students will create a timeline of themselves as a baby, a first grader, and predictions about what their future will be like.
If you have not sent in a baby picture and a first grade picture please do so by Wednesday.
